Jasmine Key (b. 1999) is a mixed-media artist based in the UK whose practice explores the relationship between visual culture, storytelling, and the ways our internal worlds are shaped by an increasingly mediated world. Working across archival imagery, printmaking, and collage, she investigates how narratives are constructed, consumed, and reimagined.
Her work examines our capacity to become the authors of our own realities, creating scenes that exist between lived experience and imagined worlds. Drawing on ideas of daydreaming, escapism, and feminine desire, Key constructs fragmented narratives that represent emotional responses against a backdrop of endless image consumption, global disasters and the pressure to continually perform and curate the self. Within these dreamlike scenes, she stages imagined scenarios in which desires, fears, and fantasies can be performed and explored in the safe confines of the material.
